1851 Large One Cent

This is a large one cent coin. Dated 1851. But the neat thing about this coin is that it was used as an artillery disc. A Broun fuse would use a plunger and disc to help with the percussion. So the one cent coin was the right size to use. But it would require them drilling a hole right through the center of the coin. which is why this coin has a hole in it. You can see an example of this on page 68 in the Charles H Jones fuse book. . So not only is this a cool coin but was used on a rare fuse.
