This is a one piece pewter button. It is a example of the one in the Albert book. MS 104 Massachusetts, 18th Regiment; convex with border. It has a eagle with 13 stars in semicircle above. Cordier Freres/Paris back mark. No need to ever upgrade this button has the shiny pewter look.
