This is a very fine example of a Civil War Canteen. This is the 1858 Pattern. These were known to be used by both Confederate and Union troops. This one has its original pewter spout, its original Cork and metal stopper and its original strap. Now the spout has a place that has been carved in. There is one wore spot on the canvas on the side. But all in all its a great item.
