This gun has a pretty look to it. It is an original .58 caliber Civil War military rifle. The lockplate has the vividly clear 1862 date of production stamped into it behind the hammer. In front of the hammer it has the "US” and a faint eagle design with the mark L.G&Y WINDSOR-V.   The action works crisply on the back position. The barrel is full length. The barrel has the original front and rear sights present. The rear sight still has both of the original two leafs remaining. Underneath the gun it has both of the original sling swivels present and they still pivot. The ramrod in the channel underneath the barrel is the correct style original and it is in very nice shape and is the thick style with the swelled shank design. The stock has a nice "used but not abused” look to the deep dark colored walnut. . This is a nice looking musket.
