This is a Rare Schenkl Shell. Its the 4.38 with the 12 ridges. Matching the style on page 378 in the book Thomas Dickey and Peter George wrote. Field Artillery Projectiles of the American Civil War. Great shell recovered in Port Hudson, Louisianan. Rarity of 9.
